First Visit/New Patients

Because Dr. Cooper and his team strive to provide personalized and individual care, we want your first visit and all subsequent visits to be an excellent experience.

When you make your initial phone call to our office, our new patient coordinator will ask some basic questions about you or your child.  An information packet will be mailed out to you.  Please have all forms filled out for your appointment to expedite your first visit.

Clicking on Patient Registration also allows you to fill out a new patient status sheet, and we will call you within the next business day of receiving it.

During our phone conversation, we will tell you what to expect on your first visit and make a consultation appointment that best suits you.

Two X-rays (radiographs) will be taken for the initial consultation.  Dr. Cooper and a team member will spend approximately 20-30 minutes with you.  A clinical and radiographic exam will give Dr. Cooper very good insight for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.  Treatment recommendations and options will also be explained to you.

This time also allows us to become acquainted and for you to ask questions about your treatment goals and expectations.  Of course, a complete set of records (X-rays, photographs and models of teeth) will be needed for a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.

At the first visit, we want to answer these and other questions.

• What is the nature of your problem?
• What are the options to consider for treatment?
• What will be involved with the treatment?
• What is the estimated time of treatment?
• What is the best time to start treatment?
• What is the estimated cost for treatment plus options for payment plans?
• How is the insurance handled?

Again, we want this to be a very pleasant experience for you.  We truly believe that the more you know and understand about orthodontics, the easier it will be for you as a patient.
